Three and a half members currently make up our young and busy family.  Cory works all sorts of hours at Tone's Spices in Ankeny.  He was hired on as a 2nd shift supervisor (3 pm-12 pm) but will jump on the opportunity to work day hours whenever he's needed.  He is anxiously awaiting a permanent change in hours, whether it be at Tone's or somewhere else nearby.  I guess we should just be thankful he has the job in this economy!

Breanna has worked as a preschool teacher at ISU Child Care at Vet Med since May 2008.  Cade has attended this center since he was 3 months old and has had many wonderful experiences there.  They now make a pretty successful teacher-child partnership in the preschool room...which Mommy had to fight pretty hard to get a chance to do!! :)  Breanna has fully enjoyed her job, the people she's met and the experiences she's learned from.

Cade loves his friends and going to school.  Although he is very active at every center in the classroom, his favorite activities are the block center with the cars and car mat (surprise??) or the music and movement center where he can bust a move.  He also doesn't miss a beat during calendar and large group times and has proven to be somewhat of a show-off.  He is defintiely learning everyday and his vocabulary continues to impress (or shock, rather) his Mom and Dad with unique phrases and stories.  I could go on and on with his recent personality quirks, strong prefences and sometimes 14-year-old attitude!

Finally, the half member of our family is still growing like a weed (or produce item according to a size-comparison website Breanna checks out each week).  The "incubation" period is due to end in mid-August and we can't wait for that day!  In the meantime, we try to stay busy with as many family activities as our time and money can afford.  We are looking forward to this spring and summer when we plan to visit Adventureland, Reiman Gardens, Blank Park Zoo and partake in many, many more family-friendly activities!  For our first adventure, we are heading to western Iowa/eastern Nebraska (woo-hoo, what a vacation!) the first weekend in March to see a Disney on Ice show and visit the Omaha zoo for the first time.  I'll be excited to blog about that so stay tuned!
